Tony Bailey joined GI Systems joined in May 2025 with two decades of measurement and strain gauging expertise, bringing practical competence and systems project management experience in applications of structural and condition monitoring delivered around the World. Tony now focuses his efforts on our U.K. customers providing close technical and site support for our partners, Gantner Instruments and Manner Sensortelemetrie for data acquisition and ‘non-contact’ moving part measurements, such as torque.
Tony has already made an impact in increasing the level of service provided to customers and their growing confidence in knowing quick and knowledgeable support is readily available.
GI Systems continues to maintain its efforts or cyber security, being re-assessed and certified for ‘Cyber Essentials’ in 2025, demonstrating a level of security for our company operations and working with our customers.
GI Systems has had another successful year in 2025, with significant data acquisition and condition monitoring business from a major clean energy power company, further business from rail, defence, research, global automotive R&D and industrial applications, we look forward to 2026.
GI Systems are very pleased to have completed our audit and have been re-certified for Cyber Essentials 2025, in doing so we have demonstrated a firm commitment to cybersecurity to our business partners and customers.
The 61508 Association held its 20th Anniversary at their AGM on 9th November and Rob Stockham was invited to speak and provide some history as an original founder of the Association and also past Director of CASS Scheme Ltd (Conformity Assessment for Safety-Related Systems). The meeting was very well attended by senior figures and industry experts in functional safety, where presentations and technical discussions were made and excellent opportunities for networking. The Association has over 50 members from companies, both very large and small from end users, OEMs, suppliers, engineering companies and consultants who are pleased to share knowledge and experience in applying functional and standards such as IEC 61508 and IEC 61511, plus other safety-related industrial standards.
It was with great pleasure Rob Stockham could see the success and strength of the Association he helped to found in 2002 and looking forward to many more years of providing a valuable community and space to work with functional safety.

As the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) put it “They’re the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked.” Cyber Essentials is designed to prevent these attacks.
